This role is responsible for coordinating the relationship of a business unit with internal partners to ensure growth and compliance. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
* Monitors related legislation and advises senior management relative to compliance.
* Researches new ventures and prospective revenue expansion opportunities.
* Assists in creating company's strategic and annual plans.
* Direct and lead the RFI and Comment Letter process for the Medicaid Business Development Department. This work includes:
1. Conduct initial assessment and make strategic recommendations to executive leadership (Regional Presidents, Plan Presidents, GR Officers, and BD Leadership) regarding Anthem's decision to respond to public opportunities for comment
2. Review RFIs and Comment Letter opportunities to develop initial set of strategic priorities, recommendations, or topics for review and consideration for inclusion in Anthem's response
3. Manage the response development team including Proposal Coordinator, Writer(s), and other Business Development resources to ensure a timely and successful submission
4. Maintain ongoing communication with the appropriate Regional President or Plan President to ensure response development reflects and considers the Health Plan's specific issues and political environment
5. Lead strategic session(s) to gather robust stakeholder and SME input as appropriate into response development process.
6. Maintain strong understanding and familiarity with trends in Medicaid Policy and best practices across Anthem's Medicaid Managed Care business in order to serve as a consultant to Health Plans throughout the public comment process
7. Maintain overall responsibility to ensure that Anthem's formal submissions to state partners strategically communicate preferred policy recommendations and influence sound program design and implementation to position Anthem for success
8. Manage the submission of approximately 30 formal submissions per year to Anthem's state partners.

* a BA/BS degree in a related field;
* 10 years of related strategic planning, project and program management experience with knowledge and experience in the products and services of the respective industry;
* 5 years of experience in a senior management position; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* MBA preferred
* *Medicaid experience required*
* Health Policy experience highly preferred
* Strong writing skills
* Very little travel required - less than 10%
